We all come from different walks of life and each stage of our journey matters. Some seasons last longer than others, some seasons we can't wait to end because it feels like torture, then other seasons we are enjoying what we are learning while other seasons we are on top of the world; those are the ones we want to stay in forever. No matter the season we are constantly evolving.
Suicide is a challenging problem where simple solutions aren't an option. The one thing that is certain is that having a strong offense is the most effective protection. Each individual is embarking on their own path towards wellness, endeavoring to manage their unique challenges and possibilities.

November is often remembered for Thanksgiving — a time to gather, to reflect, and to give thanks for the blessings we hold. But it’s also a month filled with reminders of how deeply mental health connects us all.
This month shines a light on Men’s Mental Health, a topic that deserves far more conversation than it gets. Men are often taught to “be strong” and “push through,” but strength isn’t found in silence — it’s found in honesty. Checking in, talking about emotions, and seeking help are acts of courage. Let’s break that stigma, one honest conversation at a time.
It’s also Early Childhood Mental Health Awareness Month, reminding us how vital it is to nurture emotional well-being from the very beginning. Little ones learn what love, safety, and connection look like from the adults around them — and when we care for our own mental health, we model resilience and compassion for the next generation.
During Anti-Bullying Awareness Week, we’re reminded that our words carry weight. A simple act of kindness can change someone’s day — maybe even their life. Choose empathy. Teach it. Live it.
And for those of us who have lost someone to suicide, International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day hits close to home. I’m one of those survivors. It’s a day that acknowledges the pain of what was lost, but also the hope of what still remains — the strength to keep going, the faith to keep believing, and the courage to keep loving.
So as we move through November, between awareness days and gratitude gatherings, let’s pause to give thanks — not only for what we have, but for how far we’ve come. Healing isn’t linear, but it’s worth celebrating every small step.
Let this month remind us that being thankful and being mindful go hand-in-hand. Gratitude opens the door for peace, and awareness keeps that door from ever closing. 💜
There is an ongoing need for awareness and intervention efforts to protect victims and prevent future incidents of domestic violence. If you or someone you know is in need of support, resources like the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-SAFE) are available for assistance.

Man Therapy is a suicide prevention initiative supported by evidence, established to achieve three main outcomes in men: 1) diminishing stigma, 2) promoting help-seeking actions, and 3) lowering thoughts of suicide. A $1.2 million five-year clinical study conducted in Michigan revealed strong proof that the campaign effectively achieves all of these goals.
Man Therapy is a mental health initiative aimed at men between the ages of 25 and 54 that uses humor to address topics such as depression, divorce, and anxiety in order to combat stigma

Understanding Mental Health with a twist of humor
There are so many other words that can be used in place of "crazy," words that would be more proper, such as "mentally unstable" or "insane" if we're talking about mental health, of course. Or if we're talking about things that are eccentric, perhaps words such as "wildly enthusiastic" or "passionate," "risky" or "daring" are more proper.
